Message Would it be possible to port it so that it runs on other platforms? On Linux for example.

:The software is coming along pretty good. Dee has been a help in giving me some ideas. I was wanting to make a video of it operating but my pinnacle capture device is giving me problems capturing the video using the composite input. I searched the web and it seems to be a common problem with the one I have. I get something on video as soon as I can.
:So anyway, here is how it's looking so far. I decided to create different smaller windows for the different functions to help keep the size of the windows down. All the pictures are with the software in standby mode. I'll post some pictures of everything running when I get the video made.
:Here is the main diagnostic window.
:
:I added a selection of 12 comm ports. It will remember the ports you select. If you change one of your interfaces to a different USB port it will clear the current one and display the new active one you are currently using and let you check that one. Basically the software will auto detect available ports.
:
:This is the selection for the port to use the DLP-IO8 8 channel acquistion module which will be used with this software instead of a labjack. The module can ge used with up to 8 different anolog gauges and only cost around $40. I went ahead and added functinality for it in the software. When you select "Use External Gauges" the main diagnostic window will expand to view the available gauges I have added. They will also use a voice function if needed.
:
:Here is the full main diagnostic window while using external gauges.
:
:Here are some settings for the voice function. There is a lot of voice function going on. With the voice turned on almost everything alerts you to what is going on as well as being written in the status window. The voice function makes it really easy to use the software. In a way, it guides you to what is going on. For example, selecting 10 seconds will announce, "Voice announce set to 10 seconds". When you get the fault codes, the software will display the codes above the fault code buttons, tell you each fault code number and tell you what each code means. Example, "Code 13. Engine temperature sensor circuit", "Code 42. Fuel temperature sensor circuit". I get these all the time with the ECU out of the car.
:When you doubleclick on one of the sensor bars it sets the sensor to the voice monitor and tells you that it did it. Example, "Voice monitor set to vehicle speed". With the voice monitor turned on it will announce the sensor reading at the interval you have selected.
:
:Some types of voices.
:
:Startup annouce lets you input whatever you want the software to say at startup. Leave it blank to say nothing.
:
:Here are selections for different functions to view and use. I will post more on these things later.
:
:Only a couple of tools at the moment. Any ideas?
:
:And typical stuff you might see under help. If connected to the internet, clicking website will take you to my webite for the software where you can find info about the function. Basically online help. Thats all for now.
